Cold shower method

After reading this book as part of a men's fellowship group, I would NOT recommend it. There is some good advice but the premise is flawed. This is a book about creating and following rules, accountability groups and taking cold showers. The book implies that you need to clean up your life as if the primary objective of Christian living is to avoid sin. Our prime objective ought to be to grow closer to God by trusting him and let him transform us. Our attempts at "good works" and "righteous living" are likely to fail. Remember what Jesus said to the Pharisees who thought they were so righteous because of their observance of the law. If someone needs help in this area, go see a Christian counselor. They can get to the root of the problem and treat that problem (for example lack of intimacy in marriage) rather than try to mask the symptoms of the problem through so-called "holy living." “What matters is what you are willing to do now and what you choose to do.” Stephen Arterburn
Editor's Note: this audiobook is explicit in content, geared toward real solutions for real problems. It is designed for men to read or listen to, and interact with. Female listeners, and all children, are discouraged. This audiobook is about exposing the life story of the sexual interior to a Christian exterior.
Gallagher’s narration is clean and clear, providing an educational yet intimate feel. Informative in many regards, this audio book is defintely personal in nature. It is honest and bare, a true tool. For men struggling with sexual temptation, this book is highly recommended. The audio book is narrated in such a way that those who prefer to listen instead of read will find this a great alternative, but I believe more knowledge could be gained from reading the text.
