eChristian has it's humble roots in a small, start-up audiobook publishing company called Hovel Audio. The company renamed itself christianaudio in 2005 and launched christianaudio.com with the goal of becoming the largest provider of downloadable Christian audio content online.

In 2010, the founders of christianaudio, Todd Hoyt and Cory Verner, decided to expand the company's product offering to include both eBooks and video.

eChristian.com is the culmination of a vision to provide a digital "home base" to anyone looking for digital Christian audio, eBooks, video, podcasts, apps, and the like. The company is based in sunny San Diego, California and our primary goal is to provide great digital content along with an amazing experience.

When the company changed its name to eChristian, Inc. in early 2011, president and co-founder Cory Verner said, "This isn't just a cosmetic change. christianaudio is where we started, but eChristian is where we are going."

The company publishes audiobooks under its christianaudio and Mission Audio imprints. With over 500 audio titles published to date, we began publishing print and eBooks in late 2011.

The company has a staff of dedicated professionals who are good at what they do and love doing it. But nothing is more important than serving God with a sense of humility and joy.

CEO Todd Hoyt commented, "We hope that our passion comes across in the ways we serve you. We aren't perfect, far from it, but our goal is to try and serve our customers well. We see the world as changing every day. All this technology can be used for purposes that are less than noble, but we consider what it might look like if we used technology to draw people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and disciple believers. Imagine that. Our goal is to pray hard and work hard, using what God has given us for his Glory. Seems like a good company mission statement if we ever decide we need one."
